There are good reasons
to choose your instructor from the WPDIA!!

AND become a safe driver for life

WPDIA members are checked and verified as bona fide driving instructors, who are fully qualified and of good character.  Most WPDIA members have been operating locally for several years to many years and keep themselves up-to-date with current events and changes in the industry both locally and nationally through their membership.  Knowledge of such changes is important.  We live in an ever changing world and the driver training industry is not exempt from this

You have peace of mind when choosing an instructor from the WPDIA

Please be aware that there are "cowboy" instructors, some operating illegally, just as there are rogue traders in any industry

Check that your instructor has a valid operating licence

Can your instructor prove this?  Can he/she give validations, recommendations, provide evidence of being up-to-date in knowledge and experience of operating in your area?

** Did you know that the DSA closed Warrington Test Centre in 2008? **

Some people are still not aware of this.  WPDIA fought a long and hard campaign against this closure with many members working for hours and hours organising a protest campaign.  Did you know that this campaign resulted in the closure being delayed for several months?  Did you know that despite the closure the campaign is continuing with letters and protest e-mails, visits to Westminster, lobbying and meeting with local MPs and MEPs etc etc.

All this work is being carried out by WPDIA members on behalf of learner drivers in the Warrington area

WPDIA maintains that the closure of Warrington test centre was unnecessary and unfair and results in increased costs for both learners and instructors in the Warrington area

Until WPDIA succeeds in getting Warrington test centre re-opened we will have to live with the current situation.  The nearest test centres available to Warrington learners are:

Widnes, Northwich, St Helens, Sale or Atherton

Please be assured that WPDIA has members that are familiar with these test centres and with the test routes operated from these test centres

Please support your local instructors and your local industry and show your appreciation for the work put in by WPDIA members on your behalf by choosing your instructor from the WPDIA

It is not necessary nor in your interests as a Warrington learner to seek out of town instructors because you think they are more knowledgeable of the other test centres and routes.  This is NOT the case.  WPDIA members are well placed and have the knowledge and experience to advise you on the best test centre for you to take your test and to familiarise you with that area at reasonable cost and at the right time before your test within the constraints of your budget.  Many of the WPDIA members have operated from other test centres apart from Warrington for many years

You have no advantage in learning with instructors from other towns and chosing this option is likely to cost you more!

** What about price?? **

As part of the criteria of being a member of WPDIA, members will endeavour to offer the best possible service to you as a customer at a reasonable price.  WPDIA encourages members to price lessons competitively and responsibly so as to encourage development and investment in the industry locally.  When choosing an instructor, if price is your SOLE consideration then you are likely to be able to get cheaper lessons elsewhere but ask yourself whether or not this is good VALUE?

Of course price is an important consideration in any purchase but when choosing somebody suitable to teach you to drive as a skill for the rest of your life, is it the only or even most important consideration?

What about all the following considerations and how important they are to you??

Quality of instruction, knowledge of requirements, knowledge of how DSA operates and conducts tests, knowledge of test centres and routes available to you, keeping that knowledge up-to-date, demonstrating good character, providing a reliable, comfortable and road-worthy vehicle suitable for learning to drive, having the correct insurance, having all the necessary qualifications and valid operating licence

WPDIA offers you peace of mind by providing you a choice of proven, reliable and reputable instructors who can provide you with all of the above at a reasonable cost

In short, CHEAP driving lessons are usually cheap for a reason.

Don't confuse price with value and remember in driver training as with anything else in life, you will nearly always get what you pay for!

Happy motoring!!
